Hamburg, 02 June 2023 – AERQ, a provider for digital cabin solutions, and Boeing EnCore Interiors (BEI), a manufacturer of comprehensive cabin solutions, announced the continuation of their collaboration for AIX 2023. This year, they are collaborating on The Smart View Concept – a unique digital experience cabin touchpoint that brings real-time contextual content and innovative technologies together while aiding cabin operations for the crew.

Combining over-the-air content delivery and a 30” mid-sized transparent OLED display, The Smart View is set to revolutionise the digital cabin experience. To enable discussions and feedback from potential airline customers interested in The Smart View, a monument will be on display at the booth 4C20 from AERQ as well as the booth 1UC52 from Boeing EnCore Interiors at the upcoming Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) from June 6-8 in Hamburg, Germany.  

From ground-based management of digital content to a premium cabin monument, the collaboration between AERQ and Boeing EnCore Interiors empowers airlines with a unique digital experience cabin touchpoint. Thanks to accelerated digital processes, airlines are in control of the look and feel of the digital cabin. This includes the easy branding of content and advertising opportunities. The cabin monument will turn the time on board into a memorable experience for passengers as they benefit from contextual relevant content based on destinations, time of day and weather, all enhanced by the display’s OLED technology. It will provide passengers with a cinematic experience with brilliant colours, infinite contrasts, and extraordinary viewing angles. Additionally, The Smart View was designed to aid the cabin operations of the crew allowing them to monitor passenger behaviour in context of safety even when they are in a seated position. Due to the OLED’s ability to change transparency states between opaque and transparent, this ‘direct view’ can be switched on and off, depending on the needs of the crew.

The display allows a straightforward and robust integration process as well as a simple and fast maintenance process. The ultra-thin, lightweight, 30” transparent OLED display introduces a completely new and medium size state-of-the-art OLED display technology to aviation. Its size makes the display more versatile and applicable and allows for integration into any type of aircraft cabin. It can be integrated both in portrait and landscape orientation, enabling various aesthetic expressions in the cabin. Thanks to the display’s OLED technology, passengers will have a cinematic experience with brilliant colours, infinite contrasts, and extraordinary viewing angles.

Last year, AERQ and Boeing EnCore Interiors collaborated on an innovative cabin interior experience concept for airlines and their passengers. As part of the collaboration, Boeing EnCore Interiors incorporated AERQ’s Cabin DigitalSignage into its galley design. This year AERQ will showcase their 55" UHD Welcome Board integrated into the galley at Boeing EnCore Interiors’ booth at this years' AIX.
