ZIM Aircraft Seating and AERQ collaborate to shape the future of the digitised cabin
Hamburg, 07 June 2023 – ZIM Aircraft Seating, a leading designer, engineer and manufacturer of aircraft seats, and AERQ, a provider for digital cabin solutions, are collaborating to propose the integration of AERQ’s AERENA Inseat System into ZIM's seat design of ZIMLITE L, shaping the future of a digitised cabin together.
The outcome of this collaboration will be revealed at the Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) 2023 in Hamburg (06-08 June). The integration of the AERENA Inseat System into ZIM's seat design is a fusion of both companies' strengths, creating an unmatched inflight experience.
ZIM Aircraft Seating offers seatings for Economy, Premium Economy and Business Classes for short-haul and long-haul aircraft. The company’s seat concepts are characterised by their intelligent, modular, and ergonomically optimised design that combines comfort and quality with an economically efficient use of the cabin. ZIM minimises operator acquisition, installation and maintenance costs through pre-certification, common parts, streamlined manufacturing, and easy maintenance combined with a high degree of individualisation so airlines can configure a unique product.
AERQ's AERENA platform allows for rapid content updates, changes of the UI and app management within days. The passenger devices become an integral part of the experience and many digital use cases will be supported. Bluetooth pairing will create an upscale entertainment for the passengers. Additionally, the inseat displays offer a brilliant 4K viewing experience. An optimised installation and state-of-the-art maintenance processes will help airlines to reduce costs.
